After the 30 day new hire enrollment window closes, you cannot elect or change benefits during the year, unless you experience a Qualifying Life Event (QLE) such as marriage, spouse job change, or the birth of a child. Aside from experiencing a QLE, your next opportunity to elect benefits will be during Open Enrollment in the fall with benefits effective January 1.
Benefit Eligibility
You and your dependents are eligible for coverage under various plans in the SRA benefits program.
Employees
As a full-time employee, you are eligible to elect benefits coverage.
Dependents
As a benefits-eligible employee, you may enroll your eligible dependents, including:
- Your legal spouse or domestic partner (same or opposite sex)
- Your child(ren) up to the end of the month in which they reach age 26
- Your stepchild(ren) or child(ren) of your partner
Interns
Employees classified as interns working at least thirty (30) hours per week of Samsung Research America, Inc. are eligible for the following health and welfare benefits under the Plans:
- Medical/substance abuse/mental health benefits/HSA.
- Prescription Drug benefits.
- Dental benefits.
- Vision benefits.
- Employee Assistance Program benefits
You May NOT Enroll
- Your spouse from whom you are legally separated or divorced—or the child(ren) of that spouse (i.e., stepchild(ren) or child(ren) of your spouse) —unless otherwise required by court order
- Your child(ren) age 26 or older
- Your parents
